Biography:
Kristyn Stewart is a dynamic leader and with an extensive background in educational programming to improve outcomes for youth and families. As Director of the Philadelphia Center for Arts and Technology® (PCAT) Kristyn designs and implements a pipeline of k-12 out of school time programs for nearly 1,000 students that blend STEM and the arts to to help students discover their passions while building 21st century and academic skills. Kristyn earned an M.S. in Non-Profit Leadership and Development with an emphasis on Educational Entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science and B.A. in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh. She has served as a Teach for America Corps member spending three years teaching secondary English, AP Language, and reading support, in the economically disadvantaged Mississippi Delta. She will begin her full time studies as a PhD candidate in Urban Education at Temple University in the fall of 2014.
