Biography:
Nick Ashburn is the Director of Special Projects for Impact Investing at the Wharton Social Impact Initiative and teaches Social Entrepreneurship at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas-Austin. Before joining WSII, Nick worked on a Ford Foundation project focused on jump-starting the impact investing ecosystem in Texas and advised nonprofits and social enterprises on strategy and program development. He’s worked for IDEO.org, promoting greater innovation for poverty alleviation and on US Department of State and USAID projects regarding education and youth development initiatives in developing countries. Nick holds a master’s degree in international educational development from the University of Pennsylvania and is fluent in German.
